Newington, VA – Sept. 5, 2007 – Communications Engineering, Inc. (CEI) announced today it is meeting the demands of its continuing business growth by adding several new employees to its engineering, design and service departments. These additions are also in keeping with the company’s overall strategy for future expansion in integration, sales, service and support.
The rapid increase in CEI’s service business has led to the addition of two experienced engineers in that department. Alan Passera has joined the company as a field service engineer and Dan Dang is a new service engineer. Passera has more than 32 years of experience in video products service, including 16 years as chief technician, lead video technician and technical support representative for Sony. He also developed training programs for other technicians. Dang joins CEI with 17 years of experience in video service. He previously was service engineer for Professional Products, Inc., and held the same position with Sony.
As the number of its complex integration projects increases, CEI has recognized the need for additional talented designers. As a result, the company has enhanced its staff with assistant architectural systems designer Lynsie Lewis and Jason Flakes, architectural systems designer, to increase CEI’s design capabilities. Lewis comes to CEI from the US Department of State, where she was an interior designer for Overseas Buildings Operations, Office Facilities Branch. Flakes previously was design engineer/engineering consultant for Aerotek, design consultant for The Home Depot, architectural model maker for Zoyes East, and an industrial designer for several other companies.
CEI has also boosted its engineering capacity with the addition of two design engineers, Rob Hedges and Phil Cianci. Hedges was a broadcast/multimedia engineer for Sinclair Broadcast Group and maintenance technician/information systems technician for Digital Generation Systems. Cianci previously served as a broadcast media technology engineer/designer for ESPN, broadcast TV systems engineer for AT&T/Comcast, and systems designer/researcher for Philips Research. He has authored numerous articles for Broadcast Engineering magazine and was a national trainer at Key Digital Systems.
“By bringing in this group of talented engineers and designers, we are not only filling the needs we have today but also ensuring that we can keep pace with our future business growth,” said Lawrence Brody, President and CEO of CEI. “We’ve seen a solid increase in systems integration projects, as well as tremendous expansion in our service business, so we are very pleased to have the level of experience and expertise these new employees can provide to our customers.”
