Watkins Brings 25 Years of Experience
To Expanding CEI Sales Team
Newington, VA – July 10, 2009 – Communications Engineering, Inc. (CEI) announced today that it has made another addition to its growing sales team by naming broadcast industry veteran Rick Watkins as sales representative. Watkins comes to CEI with more than 25 years experience in network television news, broadcast production, and broadcast equipment sales.
Watkins will be responsible for a variety of CEI clients, including TV stations and networks; houses of worship; post-production facilities; colleges and universities; and other media outlets. CEI and its subsidiary, CEI Sales, LLC, which focuses on product sales, have seen rapid increases in their business in recent years, and the company has kept pace by doubling its sales group in the past four months.

Newington, VA – April 16, 2009 – Communications Engineering, Inc. (CEI) announced today that it has made a significant addition to its management team by naming Phil Whitebloom, a 22-year veteran of the broadcast and multi-media industry, vice president of Sales and Marketing for CEI.
Whitebloom will be responsible for the overall direction and strategies of CEI’s growing sales and marketing team. CEI and its subsidiary, CEI Sales, LLC, which focuses on product sales, have seen rapid increases in their business in recent years. Whitebloom’s extensive experience in the planning and execution of sales activities will enable CEI to effectively keep pace with this growth and respond quickly to customer needs.

NASCAR Media Group Selects CEI for New HD Production Center at Hall of Fame Facility
Newington, VA – April 14, 2009 – Communications Engineering, Inc. (CEI) announced today that it has been selected by the NASCAR Media Group to integrate and build a new High-Definition (HD) production facility in downtown Charlotte, NC, featuring control rooms, studio, editing suites, audio sweetening room, archiving, digital MATV system and many other areas covering six floors and 100,000 square feet of two adjoining buildings. The new facility will utilize the latest wideband 3Gigabit HD processing and distribution technologies.
The production center is part of the new NASCAR Plaza and NASCAR Hall of Fame under construction in Charlotte. In addition to the multimedia production capabilities, the facility will include a 24/7 news center to service media and news organizations by providing a broad range of content services covering all aspects of stock car auto racing, as well as serving non-industry clientele interested in the highest quality facilities available in Charlotte. CEI will be responsible for all aspects of the project, including final design, equipment procurement, systems integration, installation, testing, training and overall project management as well as some elements of ongoing technical support.

Opening Day at Camden Yards Features Debut
of New HD Production System Built By CEI
Newington, VA – April 6, 2009 – Baltimore Orioles fans will experience Oriole Park at Camden Yards in a whole new way when the 2009 baseball season starts today thanks to the debut of a new high-definition (HD) digital production system designed and built by Communications Engineering, Inc. (CEI).
The Maryland Stadium Authority, which operates Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the premiere site for sports and entertainment activities in Baltimore, brought in CEI to upgrade the existing analog facilities to a modern HD production facility. The new system, which will officially go into operation at today’s first game of the season, can originate HD programming to the stadium’s new HD LED video displays. The system will also generate two new HD channels to add custom HD content to the in-house cable system. The project resulted in a modern event-day presentation that incorporates the latest HD capabilities.

Baltimore's WBAL Goes Live in HD as CEI Completes New Production System

Newington, VA – Jan. 5, 2009 – WBAL-TV, the NBC affiliate in Baltimore, today began live high-definition (HD) news broadcasts utilizing the new HD digital production system which has been designed, integrated and built by Communications Engineering, Inc. (CEI). WBAL, which reaches about 1 million households, broadcasted its mid-day and evening news programs in HD today and plans to televise five news shows daily in HD.
CEI’s primary responsibilities in the upgrade project for WBAL included designing and constructing a new HD video control room, audio control room, HD news production studio, a core equipment room and a video control area. The project resulted in the modernization and expansion of the existing production facilities to allow WBAL to broadcast in HD.
